Krug Champagne is a champagne house based in Reims standing for more than 160 years it was established in 1843 by Johann-Joseph Krug.
Among the main techniques used is the initial vinification in small 205 liter barrels made of oak from the forest of Argonne. With an average age of 35 years the barrels are maintained by the coopers of the house and reused from one year to the next. According to the head of the cellar: “The longevity of our champagne is intimately linked to the time it spends in the berrels.”
